First Alert Forecast: More hit and miss storms
Expect the heat to turn back up this week.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Hot summer temperatures make a return this week across Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky.
NEXT 24 HOURS
A dry start to the day, but more hit-and-miss showers and storms will develop in the afternoon once again. Temperatures will reach the upper 80s tomorrow afternoon. Storms could produce heavy rain, but any rain will fizzle out through the evening and early into the overnight.
Tonight will be dry with lows in the 70s.

REST OF THE WEEK
We’ll keep a passing shower or storm in the forecast Wednesday through Friday, but the heat will be the bigger story. Highs on Wednesday will top off around 90, while Thursday and Friday, they’ll stretch back into the low and even mid 90s.
Heat index values in the second half of the week will be near or over 100°.

WEEKEND FORECAST
More heat and humidity are expected this weekend, with highs in the mid-90s on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Heat index will once again top 100° both days.
We still can’t rule out an isolated shower for the weekend in the afternoon, but we’re not expecting any kind of washout
