NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Hendersonville man could spend the rest of his life behind bars after a jury convicted him of dozens of charges related to the sexual abuse of a minor.
District Attorney General Thomas Dean announced the update following a two-day trial in Sumner County. Jurors ultimately found Branden Michael Tompkins, 24, guilty of 34 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Tompkins’ bond was revoked following the guilty verdict, and he faces up to a 136-year prison sentence without the possibility of probation, parole or early release, according to Dean.
Detectives discovered child sexual abuse materials on the Hendersonville man’s phone in February of 2025, the district attorney general said. At the time, they were searching his phone “in conjunction with an unrelated investigation.”
“The Sumner County District Attorney’s Office will continue to work closely with our law enforcement partners to see that cases involving the sexual exploitation of children are aggressively prosecuted,” Dean wrote on Facebook.
Tompkins is scheduled to be sentenced on October 2.
