Tornado in Jackson County traveled 4.3 miles for eight minutes
The tornado touched down at about 6:10 p.m. and snapped or uprooted hundreds of trees in the county, damaging several structures.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - WSMV4′s First Alert Weather Team has confirmed that an EF-1 tornado hit Jackson County on Thursday night.
The tornado touched down at about 6:10 p.m. and snapped or uprooted hundreds of trees in the county, damaging several structures.
The tornado lasted eight minutes and spanned 4.3 miles to the east. It also had a max windspeed of 110 mph and a max width of 500 yards.

Officials in Jackson County reported that several roads were blocked due to downed trees and power lines from Thursday night’s severe storm.
“First responders and road crews are working tirelessly to manage the multiple issues present throughout the county,” JCEMA said.
Meanwhile, in East Tennessee, two other tornadoes were confirmed from Thursday’s storms. The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-2 tornado hit Morgan County with max winds of 135 mph and another tornado, an EF-1, hit Grainger County with 110 mph max winds.
Two deaths were reported by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office as a result of Thursday night’s storms. The county’s emergency management agency confirmed a mother and daughter were killed in their home, and three others were reportedly injured.
