SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WSMV) - A woman sustained second-degree burns on Tuesday morning after a fire erupted in her Springfield home.
According to Smokey Barn News, the fire occurred at a home near downtown Springfield. Springfield Fire Chief Jeff Glodoski told Smokey Barn News that roughly 30% of the home was directly damaged in the blaze.
An investigation is underway into the official origin and cause of the fire, but Glodoski said he believes it may have originated in the kitchen before spreading to the attic.
While the home was saved from being a total loss, there was extensive smoke and water damage.
