NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) -Dynamic. That’s how Mathew Knowles describes Destiny’s Child. The iconic music group that’s sold millions of records over three decades and have won several Grammy’s.

“Because everything they’ve done has been at a high level,” Knowles said. “It’s really made an impact, even with their fans, even with some of the messaging. And female empowerment is what Destiny’s Child has always been about. If you listen to those songs, they’re about female empowerment. And I think that impact has been dynamic.”

Tonight, he’s bringing the “Iconic Reimagined Tribute” tour to Nashville. A quintet will perform some of the group’s biggest hits during two shows at the National Museum of African American Music. It’s an intimate setting illuminated by thousands of candles. Mr. Knowles says the tour is looking to do more than 100 shows.

“I’m excited and proud to narrate some of the songs, some backstories that people don’t know how these songs came about. But this is a true engagement where people are enjoying themselves. They can take their cameras out. The ladies are singing their hearts out. And it’s a lot of fun.”

It’s a chance for fans to pay homage to the legendary work of Michelle Williams, Kelly Rowland, and Mathew’s daughter, Beyonce Knowles. The show is something Mathew says fans have been wanting.

“Every show has been sold out. It’s just this moment of hearing the energy and singing and excitement in a room,” said Knowles.

After the trio made an appearance on Beyonce’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ world tour, there’s been speculation that the group could come together for a reunion tour.

“The best case would be five years before Destiny’s Child could tour because Michelle’s on Broadway, she just re-upped for that,” Knowles said. “Kelly is doing movies and she has her own tour she might be working on. I wouldn’t be surprised if Beyonce had another album next year. The cycle of that would be three to four years of touring. So, it would be five to six years.”

Mr. Knowles says to expect surprises during tonight’s shows. There are two performances happening at 7pm & 9pm at the National Museum of African American Museum. You can purchase tickets right now by clicking here.
