NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A mother of four was arrested for verbally and physically abusing her children in plain view of responding officers in the Bordeaux neighborhood over the weekend, according to police.

According to an arrest affidavit, officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department responded to a call at the Overlook Ridge Apartments off Buena Vista Pike on Sunday. They arrived to find 27-year-old Alyissa Pritchard yelling at her four children, who were all sitting in a vehicle and were all under the age of five, the officers reported.

The officers reported that it was clear that none of the children had been bathed in a while.

“All four children had fresh and old feces all over their clothing, and the child, who is younger than a year old, had a diaper overflowing with feces.”

All of the children’s feet were also black and crusted with dirt, according to the affidavit.

The officers reported that one of the children had her foot hanging out of an open door in the vehicle. Pritchard came over and “slammed the door on the child’s foot,” and then began screaming at the child, according to their report.
