Teen arrested, most wanted suspect remains at large in shooting death of rapper in Nashville
Police are searching for a most wanted suspect who’s been on the run since the deadly shooting occurred in April 2024.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Metro Nashville Police Department announced the arrest of a teen in connection to the April 2024 robbery and murder of a rapper outside of a Nashville music studio.
On Wednesday night, 19-year-old Amir Carroll was apprehended on East Thompson Lane for his alleged involvement in the murder of Christopher Cheeks. Cheeks was killed outside of a studio on Hayes Street, according to MNPD.
Police said Carroll is a known associate of the most wanted suspect Adrian Cameron Jr., who remains at large, and was found to have been with Cameron Jr. when the shooting occurred. Cheeks, also known as rapper Chris King, of California, was shot and killed in the alleyway while a friend of his was injured by the gunfire.

Carroll is facing more than 10 charges including first-degree premeditated murder, especially aggravated robbery and felony weapon possession. He remains jailed on a $250,000 bond.
Cameron Jr., who is now 20 years old, has 12 outstanding grand jury indictments related to the rapper’s murder. He was out on bond at the time for the September 2021 murder of Josh Evans, according to police.
MNPD said that the suspect has been on the run since April 2024.
“Anyone with information on Cameron Jr.’s whereabouts or the identities of other suspects involved in the fatal shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous and qualify for up to a $5,000 reward in homicide cases,” MNPD said.
