Man sentenced to nearly 20 years for Clarksville woman’s fatal 2019 overdose
John Vandal was sentenced to 18 years in prison on Wednesday.
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A man was sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison for a Clarksville woman’s fatal overdose in 2019, according to 19th Judicial District Attorney General Robert Nash.
John Vandal was sentenced to 18 years in prison Wednesday after he was convicted by a Montgomery County jury of second-degree murder by fentanyl delivery following a two-day trial in January.
“The conviction stemmed from a 2019 incident in which Vandal sold deadly fentanyl to a Clarksville mother, despite knowing the drug had previously caused overdoses in others,” Nash said.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Dillon Barker and Deputy District Attorney Michael Pugh.
“We remain committed to seeking justice and holding those accountable who distribute dangerous and deadly drugs in our community,” Nash said.
