NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Twenty small dogs have been rescued after they were abandoned in a rental home, including two dogs that are pregnant.
Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue, which is based in Middle TN, said Tuesday that they received an emergency plea for help to save the animals. They learned that the dogs had been left in a rental home two weeks ago when their owner moved out.
The county they were found in, which was not stated, had no available shelter or animal control to help, the rescue said.
“Two of these dogs are far along in pregnancy; all are eaten in fleas and scared to death,” the group said. “...Living with no electricity and surviving on toilet water and food tossed in.”

The rescue said if the owner is found, they’ll be facing 20 cruelty charges.
