NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Tennessee Department of Transportation is planning some bridge repairs in mid-December in Humphreys County that may affect travelers.

The following lane closures will take effect from 6:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. amid the work, per TDOT:

  • I-40 westbound at mile marker 141 will experience a right lane closure for bridge joint repair.
  • I-40 eastbound at mile marker 141 will experience alternating lane closures for milling and paving activities.

“All work is weather-dependent. As always, drivers are reminded to allow additional time, slow down, and move over when traveling through a work zone,“ TDOT said. ”The Move Over Law was passed in 2006. The penalty for violating the law in Tennessee carries the possibility of up to 30 days in jail and a maximum fine of up to $500.”

The state department said that construction crews will be on site for those closures, which will be near Exit 143.
