NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Two men were arrested Thursday night after detectives reportedly witnessed a drug transaction, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
MNPD reports that TITANS Unit detectives witnessed an illegal drug transaction on South 6th Street on Thursday night.
Following the transaction, detectives tried to stop a Nissan Altima, but the driver would not stop. The driver was identified as 21-year-old Anthony L. Powell.
An MNPD helicopter followed the Altima until spike strips were successfully deployed.
Powell and his passenger, 20-year-old Deonquae Scott, bailed from the vehicle on I-24 West near the Briley Parkway entrance ramp before running into a wood line.
The pair was arrested a short time later.
