Woman injured when bullets fly into Nashville apartment, police say

The Metro Nashville Police Department said people were inside the apartment at the time of the shooting.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Multiple shots were fired into an East Nashville apartment on South 5th Street and Shelby Avenue late Monday night, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

At least 16 bullet casings were found in the street. Police said people were inside the apartment at the time of the shooting. One woman was hit in the leg, MNPD said. She was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

MNPD said more than a dozen shots were fired into an apartment in East Nashville late Monday night.

Some cars were also hit in the shooting, police said.

People who live in the area told WSMV4 that this marks the third shooting in the last month. We’re working to confirm that with MNPD. WSMV4 has also contacted the Metro Development and Housing Agency inquiring about the history of reported violence at the location.
