NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - More than 30 Doodles were rescued by a Nashville nonprofit from a large-scale breeding situation.

Wags & Walk Nashville said their team received an urgent request for help at a rural property where 180 Doodles were living outdoors.

The nonprofit was able to take in 10 Doodles last week and rescued an additional 25 on Wednesday.

Many of the dogs had severely matted fur and needed medical care, with one requiring surgery for a broken leg. Wags also said that the dogs were “under-socialized,” so some of them were scared of human interaction while others craved attention.

The nonprofit is asking for donations in order to pay for the dogs' medical care expenses. At this time, they estimate the cost to be around $15,000. Donations are not the only way to help, Wags said they are also looking for foster homes for the dogs.

Additionally, the nonprofit said they took in 15 more dogs in order to help some of their shelter partners.

“We never turn away dogs because of what they’ve been through—and we never want to turn dogs away due to a lack of funds. But we can’t do this alone,” Wags said.

To donate, you can either Venmo them at @WagsNash or on their website. You can also apply to be a foster on their website.
