Williamson County home destroyed after fire
A woman and a small child were able to escape the fire, according to officials. No injuries were reported.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A home in the Laurelbrook neighborhood in Williamson County was destroyed after a fire on Monday night.
According to Williamson County Fire & Rescue, station 22 was alerted to a house fire around 7:30 p.m. and responded to Iron Gate Drive in the Laurelbrooke neighborhood. Fire units arrived to find flames coming from the roof of the house.
Fire crews from Brentwood Fire and Franklin Fire departments also responded to assist due to the size of the house. Firefighters kept the fire from spreading to other nearby structures, but the house was deemed a total loss, according to WCFR.
Crews remained at the scene overnight and into the early morning hours, putting out hot spots. WCFR said no injuries were reported.
The investigation into the cause of the fire shows the family was using an exterior fireplace on the porch when they went inside the house for a short time. They returned outside when they heard “cracking and popping,” and discovered the fire had spread onto the roofline and attic area.
Williamson Health EMS, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin Fire, Piedmont Gas, Middle Tennessee Electric, Box 94, and the Williamson County Emergency Management Agency all assisted with the house fire.
The Williamson County Office of Public Safety, Arrington Fire, and Spring Hill Fire took over duties on other calls in Williamson County during the fire.
