Don Fox, former mayor of Lebanon, dies
Fox served as Lebanon’s mayor from 1995 to 2008.
LEBANON, Tenn. (WSMV) - Former Lebanon Mayor Don Fox died on Friday, according to current Mayor Rick Bell.
Officials across Wilson County confirmed the death and expressed their sadness on social media.
Wilson County Mayor Randall Hutto said this in a Facebook post: “I had the privilege of knowing Don Fox for many years. He wasn’t just a great mayor; he was also a great man. Please join me in praying for his family at this time.”
Mayor Bell said Fox’s impact on the city was “immeasurable and will be felt for decades to come.”
“On a personal level, I remember the days when Mayor Fox and I sat at the same table at Rotary. We had conversations both serious and funny. Although I had no idea that I would one day hold the same office, I look back at his stories of being Mayor and work hard to follow in his footsteps,” Bell said.
Fox served as Lebanon’s mayor from 1995 to 2008. During his time as mayor, his administration is credited with bringing a park, Don Fox Park, to the area, turning Castle Heights into City Hall and creating the Hartmann Drive interchange.
Lebanon Police Chief Mike Justice also shared a statement on Fox’s passing:
Mayor Bell has ordered that flags be flown at half-staff until after Fox’s memorial service.
