State and local agencies working to fill potholes after snow storm
Both TDOT and NDOT have crews out making repairs.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - With snow clearing out, potholes have emerged on roadways across the region.
Both the Tennessee Department of Transportation and the Nashville Department of Transportation have crews out making repairs.
“We’re gonna see a lot of potholes,” TDOT spokesperson Erin Zeigler said. “This is such a cold event, and we’ve had so much wet weather. Potholes are going to be a problem when things start warming back up.”
TDOT says crews are starting work on rural routes located along I-40 and I-65 in Williamson, Giles, Marshall, Humphreys, Smith, Hickman, and Wilson Counties.
Later this week, crews are expected to address issues across Metro Nashville. Determinations on which roads get repaired are based on assessments from TDOT inspectors.
Meanwhile, drivers say the repairs can’t come soon enough.
“It really messes up your car alignment,” driver Erin Gatgen said. “It causes a lot of damage, a lot of wear and tear on your car, so I’m hoping they’re taking the proper measures to fix those.”
Similar to TDOT, NDOT says they also have crews out conducting assessments and making repairs.
If you come across a pothole on a state roadway you’re encouraged to submit a maintenance request online or call 833-TDOTFIX (836-8349).
NDOT says if you encounter a pothole on a city roadway, it should be reported to 311 or online.
