NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Nashville man is facing a federal charge after a robbery at the Green Hills mall, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Tennessee.
Omari Rashad Moore, 30, of Nashville, has been charged with felon in possession of a firearm in connection to a shooting and robbery at the Mall at Green Hills on Feb. 4.
The Metro Nashville Police Department responded to the Green Hills mall for reports of a possible robbery and shots fired. At the same time, officers were dispatched to a shooting near the Interstate 65 South and Interstate 440 interchange, which is around five miles from the mall.
Once on scene at the mall, officers found two .10 millimeter casings on the ground and a “high capacity magazine” with .10 millimeter bullets near where the alleged robbery and shooting happened, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
No victim or suspect was found at the mall. However, officers on scene in the I-65 and I-440 shooting found a Tesla that had been traveling away from the mall crashed into a tree.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said officers found two Louis Vuitton bags in the vehicle and two men near the crash scene, identified as Moore and “Subject 1,” later identified as 30-year-old Emmanuel M. Easley.
MNPD also recovered a Glock Model: 29, Caliber: .10 millimeter pistol with a missing magazine near a guardrail after a witness told officers they had reportedly seen Moore approach it shortly after the crash.
Easley was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
During the investigation, MNPD reviewed surveillance video of the robbery and shooting at the mall which showed a man carrying two shopping bags away from the mall.
As he neared his vehicle, a silver Tesla drove up and stopped near the man. “A man, later identified as Moore, got out of the Tesla with an object in his pocket that was consistent with the appearance of a handgun loaded with a high-capacity magazine,” The U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
When Moore approached the man, they fought before the victim was able to run. The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Moore leaned into the victim’s car before running back to the Tesla with the two shopping bags.
MNPD arrested Moore in connection to this incident, and he now faces a felon in possession of a firearm charge in addition to an aggravated robbery charge.
Moore’s felon status stems from multiple prior felony convictions in Henderson and Davidson Counties.
If convicted of the felon in possession of a firearm charge, he faces a maximum of up to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
