Jet owned by Mötley Crüe member involved in fatal Arizona plane crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - At least one person is dead after two jets, including one owned by rock star Vince Neil, collided on the runway at Scottsdale Municipal Airport on Monday afternoon. Neil was not on board.

According to AZFamily, two jets collided on the runway at Scottsdale Airport. The crash happened around 2:45 p.m.

According to online records, the Learjet 35A is owned by Chromed In Hollywood which is a company based in Franklin. WSMV4 Investigates and AZFamily investigates learned the jet is registered in Wyoming with a principal-agent listed as Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe. Our affiliate AZFamily has reached out to Crüe’s agent who said they were gathering details.

According to an attorney in Nashville who works with Neil, the plane had two pilots and two passengers. They said Neil was not on the plane.

Bret Michaels, frontman of Poison, released a statement in response to the crash.

In a Facebook post, Michaels said he sent his deepest sympathy and condolences to the pilot who passed away and the another pilot who was injured, and their family friend Rain.

Michaels said Rain and her friends were involved in the tragic landing.

“I was relieved to hear my friend Vince Neil was not on board at the time of the incident,” Michaels said. “I often fly out from this Scottsdale Airpark location and my heartfelt sympathy goes out to all involved.

The FAA said, a “Learjet 35A veered off the runway after landing and crashed into a Gulfstream 200 business jet on the ramp.”

Scottsdale fire officials said one person was found dead upon arrival and three people were hospitalized.

AZFamily reported a fifth person refused treatment.
