Gov. Lee joins Pres. Trump at White House following special session victories
The Tennessee governor’s special session proved successful for three bills: the school choice program, a disaster relief package for those affected by Hurricane Helene and an immigration enforcement bill.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Gov. Bill Lee is joining President Donald Trump at the White House on Friday following his victorious special session that ended on Thursday afternoon.
Lee is joining Trump and other governors for a roundtable discussion for National School Choice Week.
“Today, I’ll join Pres. @realDonaldTrump & fellow @GOPGovs at the White House to share how TN’s Education Freedom Act victory will empower parents & guarantee opportunity for students,” Lee said.
The Tennessee governor’s special session was for three bills: his school choice program, a disaster relief package for those affected by Hurricane Helene and an immigration bill. Following their passage in the House and Senate, they’ll now head to his desk for a final signature.

The governor called for the special session in mid-January — which began on Monday, Jan. 27, less than a week after the deadly shooting inside the cafeteria of Antioch High School.
Lee’s $500 million school choice plan would give 20,000 students about $7,000 each in public dollars to help them pay for private school.
