Teen accused of shooting Nashville middle schooler at park to be tried as adult
He’s facing charges of homicide and attempted homicide.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - WSMV4 has confirmed that the teen accused in the shooting death of a Nashville middle schooler at a park in Bellevue in 2024 will be tried as an adult.
De’Anthony Osasosifo is accused in the shooting death of 13-year-old Aayden Hayes at Red Caboose Park in late May. He’s facing charges of homicide and attempted homicide.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said there was a fight between females in a parking lot at the popular park when other teens joined the fight. Shortly after, someone pulled a gun and fired shots.
A 16-year-old girl was able to go to the Nashville Fire Department station near the park. Her brother, Hayes, was hit multiple times and taken to a local hospital where he later died.
After the shooting, officers found the teenage boy matching the name provided by the victim walking about 1/4-mile from the park on Highway 70. After questioning, Osasosifo was booked and charged with criminal homicide and attempted criminal homicide in the shooting.
The gun he allegedly used was located by a dog with US Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms (ATF) discarded in the grass along the path the teenager was walking.
