Tennessee sailor killed in California motorcycle crash
Luhrs was an active duty sailor in the US Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California at the time of his passing.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Tennessee man was killed in a motorcycle crash in California, according to the Trousdale County Sheriff’s Department.
JayPatrick Tyler Luhrs, 26, of Trousdale County, was riding a motorcycle down a connector road from Interstate 15 North to Interstate Route 805 when he reportedly lost control of the bike and struck a guardrail on Dec. 28, 2024.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene, but Luhrs was killed in the crash, TCSD said.
Luhrs was an active duty sailor in the US Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California at the time of his passing.
Luhrs arrived in Nashville by plane Thursday and is being escorted by Trousdale County Sheriff Ray Russell on Highway 231 northbound to Highway 25 eastbound. They are expected to arrive at Anthony’s Funeral Home in Hartsville by 8 p.m.
TCSD said anyone wanting to remember Luhrs on the travel path is welcome and would be appreciated by the family.
