First Alert Weather Day: When will the snow stop falling in the Midstate?
Most areas will see 12 hours of snowfall on Friday, Jan. 10.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) — Snow has been falling in the Midstate since early morning, but it will end after nightfall.
Most Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky areas will get around 12 hours of snowfall on Friday. It will exit from west to east throughout the evening.
The snow is expected to wrap up in western Middle Tennessee by about 3-5 p.m.
Central Middle Tennessee, including Nashville, should see snow trickle off between 5-7 p.m.
The Plateau will see the snow exit between 7-9 p.m.
We could still see flurries late tonight through early Saturday morning.
With temperatures staying in the mid-30s this weekend, it could take several days for the snow to melt. Be sure to use caution even into the weekend because whatever snow does melt could refreeze overnight as low temperatures fall back into the 20s.
