Lost Tennessee hunters located using drone

HARDIN CO., Tenn. (WSMV) - A drone helped locate two lost hunters in West Tennessee, according to the Hardin County Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to Walker Branch WMA on Diamond Island Drive on Friday just after 9:30 p.m. for reports of two lost hunters. HCFD said the hunters had called 911, but their phone died before officials could pinpoint their location.

On scene, HCFD launched two thermal imaging drones. The adult and 9-year-old hunters were located by fire officials with the drone within five minutes of them launching it.

The pair was assisted to the main road.

HCFD said the hunters were not injured.
