License plate reader technology helps Mt. Juliet police arrest shoplifting suspect
Officers found the suspect driving on Interstate 40 East and intercepted him before he could leave the city.

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Mt. Juliet Police Department (MJPD) arrested a 31-year-old shoplifting suspect from Nashville with the help of license plate reader technology.
According to MJPD, the suspect allegedly stole merchandise from Walmart. Officers found the suspect driving on Interstate 40 East and intercepted him before he could leave the city.
“Teamwork and technology at their best– all working together to keep our community safe so criminal suspects are not successful in Mt. Juliet,” MJPD said.
The suspect was apprehended and charged.
