NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The driver of a Tennessee logging truck is facing charges in connection to the crash that killed a toddler on Couchville Pike in Rutherford County, according to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

The report states that the logging truck was driven by 61-year-old Christopher B. Holloway and was traveling on Couchville Pike with an improperly secured boom on the night of Oct. 10.

The boom swung into oncoming traffic, striking the front of a 2014 Nissan Versa. After the crash, the truck came to a controlled stop at the scene. The Nissan ran off the roadway and stopped in a private driveway.

The crash injured the driver and passenger of the Nissan, also killing a 2-year-old boy, according to the THP report. All parties were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Holloway is facing several charges including reckless vehicular homicide and aggravated assault.
