NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - An 18-year-old man was arrested after detectives found he was transporting a large amount of pills containing fentanyl on a bus into Nashville on Wednesday.

According to the arrest affidavit, narcotics detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Department approached Ivan Corrales as he was exiting a bus at the Greyhound station on Rep. John Lewis Way at about 5:30 p.m.

Corrales’ bus was arriving in Nashville from Texas, the affidavit states.

The detectives asked Corrales if he was carrying any illegal narcotics, which he denied, but allowed them to search his bags, according to the affidavit. The search produced a “large bundle wrapped in duct tape,” containing approximately 10,000 blue M30 pills, the detectives reported.

The pills later tested positive for fentanyl, according to the report.

Corrales admitted to the detectives that he was aware of the pills and said they were given to him in El Paso, Texas, the affidavit states. He declared, however, that he did not know they were fentanyl pills.

The detectives took Corrales into custody and charged him with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell. He was booked on a $75,000 bond.
