Tennessee Crossroads star dies after battling illness

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Joe Elmore, the host of Tennessee Crossroads died Monday morning following a “long illness.”

The announcement of his death was made by Nashville Public TV (NPT) on social media.

Elmore was the host of Tennessee Crossroads for 37 years since the program started in 1987.

The show highlights personalities, crafts, places, foods and events that “make Tennessee special and its character unique.”

The show Elmore helped create will continue, as will his spirit, NPT said. NPT said the 38th season of Tennessee Crossroads will be released soon.
