Inmate dies shortly after arriving at Rutherford County jail, TBI investigating

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating after an inmate died shortly after arriving at the Rutherford County Jail.
Rutherford County Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh said an inmate died shortly after they were brought to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center for booking on Tuesday night.
Sheriff Fitzhugh said the TBI was called immediately, and agents are now investigating the death.
No other details have been released regarding the incident at this time.
