(Gray News/AP) - Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov, well-known Russian skaters who had been coaching at the Skating Club of Boston since 2017, were among those killed after an American Airlines jet and Army helicopter collided Wednesday night.

Shishkova and Naumov, who won the pairs title at the 1994 world championships and competed at the Winter Olympics twice, were aboard the plane, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Their son, Maxim Naumov, is a competitive figure skater for the U.S. It is unknown if he was also on the flight.
