New ‘Voice of the Vols,’ Mike Keith, says love for his alma mater took him back to Knoxville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - After his first week in his new job, former Titans radio voice Mike Keith stopped by WSMV to talk about his decision to become the next “Voice of the Vols.”
Keith spent 27 years as the only radio play-by-play broadcaster the team ever had since moving to Nashville.
However, his love for his alma mater drew him back to Knoxville.
“For me, it was yes because of how they handled it throughout the process, what they put down on a sheet of paper to say, ‘This is what we want you to do,’” said Keith. “It’s a job that is extremely personal to me. I feel like I’m going into the family business because I knew the first two guys.”
He calls the move both exciting and terrifying.
