Robbery attempt, shooting leads to drug bust in Nashville
An apparent robbery attempt involving more than 20 pounds of marijuana led to the Thursday night shooting on Alabama Avenue, police said.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - An apparent robbery attempt involving more than 20 pounds of marijuana resulted in a shooting that critically injured a 22-year-old Nashville man Thursday night, according to Metro Nashville police.
Officers responded to the 3900 block of Alabama Avenue but found no one injured. Police said the victim drove himself in his Dodge Durango to the Mapco on 21st Avenue South.
Officers found him and were able to render aid before he was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. Police believe he will recover from his injuries.

MNPD said officers also responded to St. Thomas Hospital Midtown where a second man had walked in with a gunshot wound to his arm. During the investigation at the Mapco, officers recovered a gun and bundles of marijuana from the victim’s Dodge.
Multiple cartridge casings were recovered on Alabama Avenue. MNPD believes both men were injured during the incident on Alabama Avenue. The investigation remains ongoing.
