Software-giant Oracle names Nashville as new world headquarters

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - From a Silicon Valley startup in 1977 to going public in 1986 and now, Oracle, the software giant, is moving its headquarters to Nashville in 2024.
Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell announced the move on Tuesday afternoon following the company’s health summit.
Gov. Bill Lee also shared the news on X.
“Welcome home, Oracle,” he said. “We’re proud this trusted company has picked the Volunteer State as its new world headquarters. Great news for job creation & economic growth across TN.”
Oracle announced its move to Nashville from Austin, Texas on Tuesday during its healthcare summit in Nashville. Chairman and co-founder Larry Ellison announced the move during an appearance on stage.
