School district releases statement after 16-year-old Pearl-Cohn student killed
The junior was found with a gunshot wound to the chest and later died at the hospital.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A 16-year-old Pearl-Cohn High School student was found shot and later died Monday night in East Nashville, according to police.
The Metro Nashville Police Department said Henry Taylor, was found with a gunshot wound to the chest on Lemont Drive at about 8:30 p.m.
Taylor was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Metro Nashville Public Schools confirmed Taylor was a student at Pearl Cohn. The school district expressed its sympathy to Taylor’s family and friends.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Henry C. Taylor, 11th-grade student at Pearl-Cohn, who was the victim of gun violence and tragically killed last night,” MNPS said. “Our student support services team will be onsite tomorrow to provide grief counseling for any staff or students who need it.”
The shooting incident remains under investigation.
