Teen out on bond for two murders arrested for Antioch shooting
The 19-year-old has been arrested on two aggravated assault charges for the shooting that happened while he was awaiting two first-degree murder trials.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A teenager who was out on bond for two suspected murders has been arrested for another shooting.
The Metro Nashville Police Department said Oswaldo Corado shot someone at an Antioch playground on Friday night.
The 19-year-old has been arrested on two aggravated assault charges for that shooting. It happened at Mill Ridge Park while he was awaiting trial for two first-degree murder charges stemming from separate shootings in November and December 2020.

Parents like Cassidy Gilbert are keeping an extra close eye on their children at the park’s playground after police said Corado pointed a gun at one person and shot someone else in the hand in this latest incident.
“There has to be harsher punishments for things like that,” Gilbert said. “Make sure we don’t have any crazy people still running out on the streets that are not willing to get their lives together.”
Corado is now being held in jail on a $150,000 bond for this most recent shooting. Court records show the then 16-year-old was arrested in 2020 for two murders exactly one month apart and allowed to go home on a combined $150,000 bond before facing trial as an adult.
Corado was set to face a jury in June for allegedly gunning down Alex Presley — who was parked in the driveway outside his home — and go to trial again in August for allegedly killing Lee Turner Jr. at a Nolensville Pike bus station.
“It’s unfortunate that’s the way society is today,” parent Margaret Kaelbel said. “But shootings aren’t going to stop happening until we look at gun reform. We look at mental health reform. We look at prison reform.”
Kaelbel said the entire justice system needs to be reviewed for letting something like this happen. She and Gilbert are hoping Corado will face harsher punishments to prevent another shooting.
Police said Corado was wearing an ankle tracker as part of his bond and wasn’t allowed to be around guns. He is due in court on Tuesday morning to face the charges from the park shooting.
