Country star Darius Rucker arrested in Williamson County on drug charges

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Country music star Darius Rucker was arrested in Williamson County on drug charges, according to the sheriff’s office.

Rucker is facing charges of simple possession, casual exchange and violation of registration law after his arrest by Franklin Police officers.

He was released on a $10,500 bond on Thursday.

Hootie & the Blowfish, which Rucker is a member, is set to return to the road this summer and includes a stop at Bridgestone Arena on July 27.

“Darius Rucker is fully cooperating with authorities related to misdemeanor charges,” Rucker’s attorney, Mark Puryear said.
