(CNN) - More than 20,000 cans of 7Up are being pulled from store shelves over a labeling issue, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The agency says an Alabama-based bottler initiated a voluntary recall July 31 for nearly 2,000 cases of 7Up Zero Sugar Tropical. Though labeled as “zero sugar,” the cans were found to mistakenly contain a “full sugar product.”

The recalled 7Up was packaged in 12-pack cartons containing aluminum cans that hold 12 fluid ounces. They have a use by date of March 23, 2026, and the lot numbers are XXXXBR062156 and XXXXBR062256.

The soda was distributed in Alabama, Florida and Georgia.

The FDA has classified this as a Class II recall, which means use of the product may cause “temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.”
