JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday afternoon that investigators think a body found in the Nolichucky River could been flood-related.

Investigators responded to the scene — the 2000 block of Highway 107 near Jonesborough — and found the body.

“Evidence at the scene indicates this is a flood related death,” a release from the sheriff’s office said.

The investigation is ongoing.
