NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Hopkinsville Police Department (HPD) is searching for an “armed and dangerous” man accused of killing another man in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

On Friday, officers with the HPD responded to East 1st Street and North Virginia Street.

When officials arrived, they provided medical treatment to a victim, 27-year-old Jacorey Majors.

Officials took Majors to a local hospital where he later died.

Detectives are investigating the murder of Majors.

The HPD believes 27-year-old Tavarious Mathews is a person of interest.

Police said Mathews should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

“If you have information on the whereabouts of Mathews, please contact ECC at 270-890-1300,” the HPD said.
