Tractor trailer fire shuts down interstate in Putnam County
When crews arrived, the cab portion was “heavily involved in fire.”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Putnam County Fire Department reported on Saturday that a tractor-trailer caught fire on Thursday morning.
The tractor-trailer caught fire on Interstate 40 around the 278 west mile marker.
When crews arrived, the cab portion was “heavily involved in fire.”
As crews battled the fire, the interstate was shut down for a period of time.
Officials reported the cab as a total loss. They added that the trailer sustained minor damage.
