NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Nashville woman who originally claimed a stranger killed her boyfriend has now been arrested in connection to his death, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Police said 24-year-old Jyala Hall claimed her boyfriend, 23-year-old Brandon Calloway, was killed by an unknown man dressed in all black with a hoodie over his head who fired a shot through the back door of their Brickmont Drive Home on Aug. 10.

On Thursday, Hall spoke with homicide detectives and admitted she shot through the rear door of the home as she and the victim were engaged in a prolonged argument, according to police.

“The continuing investigation led detectives to have increasing doubts about Hall’s initial story as evidence didn’t support it,” MNPD said.

Hall is facing a charge of criminal homicide.
