Repairs underway after lines cut at 911 Center in Clarksville
If you’re calling 911 and the call drops, you’re urged to call back, use the 911 text option or call the non-emergency line at 931-552-1011.
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Crews are conducting emergency repairs after fiber lines were cut in front of the Clarksville, Montgomery County Emergency 911 Center.
Montgomery County officials said the lines were accidentally cut as construction was taking place in the area on Tuesday.
While some issues are occurring with 911 calls, the center’s 911 redundancy backup system kicked on upon the lines being cut.
“Dispatchers began to notice that some of the calls were becoming spotty and intermittent,” officials explained.
If you’re calling 911 and the call drops, you’re urged to call back, use the 911 text option or call the non-emergency line at 931-552-1011.
“Fixing the fiber lines is a high-priority project with all hands on deck. Specialists from Nashville, Austin Peay State University, the Montgomery County IT Department, and others are working on the issue and hope to have the lines reconnected this evening,” officials said.
