Indianapolis 500 delayed due to weather

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced Sunday morning that pre-race ceremonies will be paused and the start of the 108th Running of the Indianapolis 500 will be delayed due to lightning.

“Additional updates on timing will be communicated,” the Indianapolis Motor Speedway said on Twitter.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway added that they made the decision to pause the pre-race ceremonies to move fans out of the grandstands and the Snake Pit.
