NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Southwest flight on its way to Denver was diverted to Nashville after an odor was detected in the cabin, according to the airline.

Southwest Airlines said Flight 8901 from Baltimore/Washington to Denver had to be diverted to Nashville due to the odor.

The airline did not disclose what the odor was that caused the diversion. Southwest said the plane landed safely without incident and was taken out of service.

The passengers were moved to another aircraft and continued on to Denver.

“We appreciate our Customers’ patience as we work to get them to their destinations as quickly as possible,” Southwest said in a statement.
