NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Lucas Daggs is one of many Good Samaritans going around Middle Tennessee and helping people stuck on the side of the road.

Daggs said he’s been helping people for three days straight. During the three days, he’s been giving drivers rides for free.

He said he started helping people after sitting at home bored.

“I had nothing to do, and I had a truck,” Daggs said. “I thought, well I might as well go do something good for people.”

Since then, Daggs has been loading up his trucks and started looking for people who slid off the road and into ditch or were just stuck and or needed a ride home.

“I want to say I’ve pulled probably about 15 people out of ditches and I’ve helped transport about 10 to 15 as well,” Daggs said.

When Daggs does find someone to help he will hook his car up to theirs and will slowly pull them out.

“After that I’ll rap it all up and head on to the next one,” Daggs said.

But Daggs hasn’t been the only one on the roads helping people.

“I’ve seen plenty of individuals with trucks or capable vehicles that are safe to be out helping people out of ditches just like what I’m doing,” Daggs said.

Daggs, along with the other Good Samaritans all jump in every time it snows in Nashville.

“If I have the means to help people, I might as well just help,” Daggs said.

Daggs along with emergency officials recommend people just stay home because they situation may be too bad for Good Samaritans to try and help.
