Animals need housing after Nashville shelter loses heat amid extreme cold
Metro Animal Care and Control in Nashville said the heating system is down in one of their adoption rooms, currently filled with around 20 dogs.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - As this week’s winter storm approaches, one Nashville shelter is going without heat for their animals.
Metro Animal Care and Control in Nashville said the heating system is down in one of their adoption rooms, currently filled with around 20 dogs.
“We don’t have anywhere to relocate them, sadly, so we are hoping people from the community will come pick up some dogs to get them in a warm home,” the shelter said.
MACC currently offers a short-term foster opportunity, “Bow Wow Breakouts,” allowing volunteers to visit the shelter and take an animal home for the day or overnight. For more info, visit MACC’s website.
For now, blankets are being used to help keep the animals warm.
The shelter said they have not received a response as to when the heat will be fixed.
