Finley Family Chocolate Sheet Cake


2 cups flour

2 cups sugar

1tsp salt

1 stick butter

1/2 cup oil

4 Tbsp. cocoa

1 cup water

2 eggs

1/2 cup buttermilk

1 tsp cinnamon

1tsp baking soda

1 tsp vanilla

Combine flour, sugar and salt in a bowl. Set aside. In a saucepan melt one stick of butter. Add oil, cocoa and water to butter. Combine and bring to simmer. Pour cocoa mixture into flour mixture and combine. Add eggs, buttermilk, cinnamon, soda, and vanilla. Pour into prepared sheet pan. Bake on 400 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes.

Frosting Ingredients 

1 stick of butter

4 Tbsp. cocoa

6 Tbsp milk

1 lb powdered sugar (1 box)

Melt butter in saucepan. Add cocoa and milk. Combine. Add powdered sugar. If frosting consistency is too thick, add a small amount of milk.

Pour frosting over warm cake. Enjoy!
