Smashville star "Catfish Jake," who made headlines for being the first person to throw a catfish on the ice during the Nashville Predator's Stanley Cup run in 2017 switched gears Saturday.
Jake Waddell tried his hand at golf, sans catfish, sponsoring the "Instrument of Crime Cup" at Gaylord Spring Golf Links.
"It makes me feel great," Waddell said. "There's still a lot of love in this, and [people are] willing to help out. That's what this is all about anyway."
The event benefited a number of charities special to Jake, including fighting congenital heart disease, helping people with addiction recovery, as well as creating a college scholarship.
Dozens played a round of golf in the inaugural tournament. The invent also included a silent auction.
Jake said the event was so successful he's planning another even next year.
