CAYCE, S.C. (Meredith/WHNS) - Police are searching for a 6-year-old girl who vanished moments after getting off a school bus in South Carolina.
Faye Marie Swetlik was last seen playing in front of her home in Cayce around 3:45 p.m. Monday, according to the Cayce Department of Public Safety.
The first-grader has strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing polka dot boots and a black T-shirt. Police said she also has a speech impediment.
Authorities will continue to canvass the girl's neighborhood today.
"We're hoping for the best," said said Sgt. Evan Antley. "We want to get Faye back home, so we're not leaving any stone unturned. We are exhausting every resource we have and then some. We are doing everything we can to get this girl home."
