NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) - A destination for Gibson Guitar enthusiasts opened its doors to the public Wednesday in the heart of Music City.

The Gibson Garage combines a guitar shop, museum and music venue all into one unique experience.

News4's Terry Bulger got an inside look at the new shop on 10th Avenue just a few weeks ago.  The garage includes flagship Gibson models as well as Custom Shop pieces that are all available for purchase.

Wednesday’s official ribbon cutting was just a warmup act. After that, the place was jammed with guitarists, either looking to buy or just looking. The garage opened Wednesday to mark Les Paul's birthday, the name behind one of Gibson's most iconic models.

"I knew it was one of the best guitars in the world,” said Achilles Pablo, who grew up in the Philippines, where all he knew about Gibson Guitars was playing one was a dream.

A new addition in downtown Nashville opens in mid-June, but we've got a sneak peek for you tonight on News4. Terry Bulger shows us.
