MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) - Officers with the Murfreesboro Police Department discovered a possible meth lab at an apartment complex near the MTSU campus on Thursday.

Investigators arrested 24-year-old Brandon Burbage around 5 p.m. Tuesday. Burbage was booked that evening at around 10 p.m. on charges of reckless endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officials with MTSU say that Burbage is not a current or former student.

Police say items that could possibly be used to make methamphetamine were inside the apartments, as well as an "elaborate beaker system." Police also found chemicals, powders, and explosives, according to a police report.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol's bomb squad and hazmat teams investigated the scene, According to the report, chemical items were sent to the Tennessee Dangerous Drugs Task Force to be destroyed.

The incident happened at the Student Quarters apartments on Greenland Drive. News4 reached out to the complex for comment but has not heard back.

The investigation is ongoing.
